• Workout Wednesday- Floor routines

     

     

    You know you don’t need a gym to get a good workout at home. What is holding you back? Don’t underestimate the value of a good home workout routine of 20-30 minutes or 2 or 3 15 minute workouts. You can literally multitask and get some housework done while you add some in.

     

    I like doing lunges up the stairs on laundry day or using the laundry baskets for weight for overhead squats. If you are in the market for buying a house find one with stairs. It’s all the little things we do daily that will create motion and fitness in our life. Going to the gym isn’t for everyone and honestly, it may not even be the best use of your time if you can find ways to save money and time by adding in-home workouts you will find that it is possible.

    If you can try and monitor your heart rate. There are lots of ways you can do this either with 2 fingers and a stopwatch or with a heart monitor.

    Most people’s heart rate is between 60-100 beats per minute at rest. To get a good fat burning rate going you will want to increase your heart rate to a healthy range for you. Here is a great article on doing that safely for your own activity level.

     

    I do want to mention that for those that have bodybuilding goals, although increasing your heart rate is important for overall health, you will need to be doing more growth-focused workouts and having resistance handy will be key. We will talk about in future Workout Wednesday articles. The key is to never use the excuse of time or space hold you back from the benefits of daily exercise.
